Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
The Quiet Bottle is a personal wine cellar management tool. We keep things simple — including how we handle your data. The short version: we collect as little as possible, we do not sell anything, and we do not track you.
What we collect
When you create an account, we store your email address. That is it. No name, no phone number, no address. Your email is used for login and, on rare occasions, to contact you about important changes to the service.
When you use the app, your wine data — cellar inventory, archive, journal entries, tasting notes — is stored in our database so it is available when you log in. This data belongs to you.
What we do not collect
We do not use analytics tools. We do not track which pages you visit, how long you stay, or what you click. We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking. The only cookie is for keeping you logged in.
We do not sell, rent, share, or otherwise distribute your data to anyone. There are no third-party trackers, no ad networks, and no "anonymous usage statistics" sent anywhere.
Where your data lives
Your data is stored on servers provided by Supabase, a hosted database service. Supabase stores data in secure, encrypted infrastructure. We do not have separate backups of your personal data beyond what Supabase provides.
Your data, your choice
You can export your entire wine collection as a CSV file at any time, directly from the app. If you want to delete your account and all associated data, send an email to contact@thequietbottle.com and we will take care of it promptly.
Email communication
We use Resend to send transactional emails such as account confirmation and password reset. We do not send newsletters, promotional emails, or marketing of any kind. If we ever start, it will be opt-in only.
Children
The Quiet Bottle is a tool for managing wine, a product intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 18.
Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes to this policy, we will update this page and note the date above. We will not quietly rewrite the terms and hope nobody notices. That is not how we do things.
